Stuff from February 2012.

So being part of certain industries has it’s perks. One of them involving free stuff. It’s nice when you can sit at the computer and do the things that you love to do, and get free stuff for it.

Introducing, my new phone, the Nokia Lumia 800.

Man that is one beautiful phone. Beautiful polycarbonate uni-body. 8 megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss Tessar lens. Perfect ClearBlack AMOLED screen. Running the wonderful Windows Phone 7.5. This is my first phone from Nokia ever since I left them for the world of smartphones so many years ago. It’s nice to know they’ve still got game and can make a great phone.

Being a developer for Windows Phone means lots of things, and once in a while you get graced with awesome gifts like this device. Big thanks go to Nokia and Microsoft for it. It was much more than I was expecting, and just a wonderful treat. I’ll put this device to good use, learning more and developing more apps for the platform.

Another phone to add to my family of Windows Phones. I can’t say that it beats my HTC Titan, but it’s pretty close. They both have some really impressive qualities and specs, and I wish I could take the best parts of both phones and smash them together.

Gaming 2012
Thursday February 16, 2012

While I certainly don’t play as many games as I used to, there are a number of games that I am looking forward to play in 2012.

Mass Effect 3 - Already pre-ordered this one. I can’t wait to see how this last game plays out. The demo was awesome and multiplayer was enjoyable.
Journey - Looks and sounds absolutely amazing.
Dear Esther - An interactive experience that shouldn’t be missed.
Rhythm Heaven Fever - It’s Rhythm Heaven. Enough said.
KoA: Reckoning - Like Skyrim, just not as serious.
The Lord of the Rings Online: Riders of Rohan - Another expansion. I hope that this one is better than the last one. Still my favorite MMO though.
Guild Wars 2 - Maybe this one will become my new favorite MMO? Certainly looks that way.
Tomb Raider - Time to start over, again. Oh Lara how I miss you.
Resident Evil 6 - As a diehard RE fan, of course I have to play this one too.
The Last Story - One of the last JRPGs on the Wii, this one looks to be good.
Xenoblade Chronicles - The JRPG of this generation finally comes to the US in April. I’ve played a lot of it already, but I’m looking forward to getting my hands on a real copy.
BioShock Infinite - Can’t wait to see how this one plays out.
Alan Wake’s American Nightmare - I’m a huge fan of the original game, and this looks like pure fun.

There are probably some small releases that I’m missing, and others that I’m not sure about (The Last Guardian, for instance), but certainly it’ll be another fun-filled year for gaming.
