Level 4
Monday October 15, 2007

So this is my final week in the front of Wal-Mart. Starting this Saturday, I’ll be heading into the Electronics department where I can actually be of use. I still have to go through a bunch of computer training presentations and some additional training, but that should not take very long. Upper management continues to praise me as if they’ve known me for years or something. I guess it’s an ego boost, but at the same time it gets slightly annoying since they don’t know when to stop.

Anyway, today I had to help out this cat/dog lady. A genuine, certified cat lady. She purchased almost $500 worth of cat and dog food, and then she wanted them bagged a specific way. 4 2-packs of cat food in a bag, 2 cans of dog food in a bag, 4 cans of cat food in a bag, all bags double knotted, all of the same type (meaning no mixing them up). I was there for about 15 minutes, with help, bagging her purchase just as she wanted. Then it was time to carry out her purchase, and I come to find there are two other employees waiting with a flatbed full of huge bags of cat and dog food. I’m told this lady comes often to purchase similar amounts of products. In less than a week, I’ll be in Electronics anyway, so unless her cats want a big screen TV, I won’t have to deal with her again.

Now that things are done with Ryan, he tends to communicate with me more. Well, a lot more. Which is slightly odd. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m happy that he still wants to be friends. I just wish he had been more receptive while we were going on. Better than nothing I guess. Play-N-Trade closed, which means that he’s out of a job, and I feel bad for him. I can’t do much for him, but I will support him in any way I can. That’s all I can do right?

I’m working my way up to level 4. I got my official Wal-Mart box cutter today. Now I look even more official. I bought new clothes the other day. Some new pants and a number of new blue shirts. The old ones were fading thanks to the Mililani sun. Speaking of the Mililani sun, I hate the weather in Mililani. It’s so random. It’ll be sunny for a few minutes, and then start raining, only to start all over again in some vicious cycle of evil.

I’m off tomorrow, and thank goodness for that. I’m really tired, and my arms hurt from all the cart pushing.

I finished a mission in Guild Wars the other day. Leveled to 17 in Asheron’s Call. Marc is trying to get me to play Final Fantasy XI. Ryan, David, and Fish are trying to get me to play World of Warcraft. Brian wants me to play Ragnarok with him. Bought Phantom Hourglass.

I don’t have the time for all of this. I hope I start getting some real part-time hours once I move into Electronics. Then again, I won’t mind working more (because it means more money) since the job itself will be easier.

Time to play some Portal.
