Three Arrives
Monday November 07, 2005

Yes, I know it’s been a few weeks. I wanted to make sure that I had enough time to finish the website, work out all the bugs, and add as many necessary features as possible. If your a return visitor, you will obviously notice a big difference than from my previous releases. The first big difference is viewing space… which has been greatly expanded. Other differences include the color scheme, and a slight variation in layout. Other than that, its still the same site that you know and love.

The biggest changes are found within the weblogs. While the Personal Blog remains relatively the same, all the other weblogs have been given a major overhaul. Reviews, images, expanded content, resources, links, and much more. I also added a number of new entries, and lots of new reviews including: Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix, Batallion Wars, Pokemon XD, Trace Memory, and Pokemon Channel. On the anime side, Kujibiki Unbalance and Speed Grapher are some of the newest reviews available.

Look forward to continuous content updates for the weblogs, and hopefully some new pictures. I plan to review Advance Wars DS, Mario Kart DS, and Nintendogs very soon, so stick around for that. Of course more anime reviews will show up as time goes on. The site itself will undergo changes until I’m completely satisfied, and I’m sure there will be other types of developments going on.

Now let me get back to my personal life for a second. The Kawaii Kon Meet & Greet went well, saw a lot of new people and old friends, and I had lots of fun. I think my speech about my department sort of sucked, and was very short… oh well. After the Meet & Greet I ended up all the way in Kailua… and got home at around 5 AM. I recieved lots of new information about Kawaii Kon 2006, and a surprising amount of news for Kawaii Kon 2007. I can’t say anything at the moment, but let it be known that there won’t be a better place to be come April. Picked up DDR Mario Mix, and I have to say that I’m having tons of fun with it. Reserved Mario Kart DS and I ready to kick some butt online come Tuesday.

That’s about it for the interesting stuff… the rest is all work and emotions and stuff.

Now in addition to setting up the staff training session for Kawaii Kon, I’ll also be working on some type of staff guide or something like that. They just love to tack on the work. Well it feels good to be depended upon anyway.

I was going to watch the Initial-D live action movie, but it seemed crappy and I kept laughing at the Chinese dialogue. Takumi speaking in Chinese is just the weirdest thing ever. Watched some of TIDE-Line Blue, which looked interesting, but then I switched over to Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien (for the second time). It still gets me every time.

Finished Advance Wars: Dual Strike the other day, and I put up the review for it in the Nintendo blog. Now I’m anticipating Mario Kart DS. It’s been getting some incredible reviews so far, and that isn’t helping me cope with the fact that I have to wait like 3 more days until I can pick it up. Online play is just going to be awesome. Sonic Rush also comes out next week, and has also recieved a great review from IGN. I want to get that too… there are just so many awesome games for the DS coming out (and already out) that I need to pick up. I always have to choose the most expensive hobbies…

These days seem to be getting better. I know they’ve all been excellent so far, but I just feel like nothing can go wrong. It’s all just one big happy ride for me, and it gets better with each passing moment.

Well, enough with the emotional talk. I’m kind of tired, so I’ll head to sleep now.

So that Animal Crossing DS contest is supposed to have ended already. The winners haven’t been announced, but I’m certainly looking forward to one of them being me. Craig (of IGN) had eye surgery, so I don’t think reading thousands of short essays is the best way to recover, but then again, it’s his life.

Been playing Mario Kart DS almost non-stop. If only the Internet would cooperate, maybe I’d have a much better record. Sorry for those of you who I have disconnected on, it really isn’t my fault. I never disconnect purposely, its all because of routers and signals. I need to buy an adaptor, hopefully Nintendo will release them in stores. I also have to mention that because of Mario Kart DS, I’ve been neglecting my Nintendogs more and more often… definitely not a good thing.

Saw Harry Potter yesterday. It was entertaining, but I still don’t think that it’s my kind of movie. I only went because it was a chance to hang out with some friends. I even had to wait in a somewhat long line (but it didn’t matter much since we were near the front of the line). I don’t wait in lines for movies… well I did for The Matrix movies, and I waited in line to see the first Pokemon movie, but its not something I look forward to doing. I didn’t think it would be THAT busy.

In about 30 minutes, the Nintendo DS will turn a year old. Happy Birthday my friend.

Friday November 25, 2005

Well believe it or not, the year is coming to an end. There is only around a month left, so I feel it appropriate for me to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

There is certainly a long list of people, beliefs, and material possessions that I’m thankful for, but I’m most thankful for the direction that life has taken me through. It’s been a bumpy year, but clearly one of the best ones of my life. A lot of people have stuck by me, and others have always kept me somewhere in their heart. For that, I thank you all very much. I look forward to many more years full of excitement and fun, surprise and laughter.

I hope that everyone eats well and spends lots of time with their family and friends. There is nothing more I want than for all of your happiness, for the rest of this year, and until the end of time.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some Mario Kart DS and pumpkin pie waiting for me.

Renewed my LP Underground membership. So that’s 3 straight years of being part of the Underground. I can’t wait for this version’s package to arrive.

I’ve been sick for a while now, but I think that I’m finally feeling better. Thank goodness because feeling sick isn’t always a good thing.

Animal Crossing Wild World comes out in about a week. I can’t wait… chopping down other villages’ trees and stealing other villages’ women… FUN! Hopefully Mr. Fenix picks the game up, I want to make it a point to pay his town a visit and steal his women first. On the Mario Kart DS street, I’m still busy trying to get 3 stars on all the Grand Prix… that hasn’t been going so well.

In regards to music, Thrice’s new release is quite good. I never really liked most of their older stuff, but ‘Vheissu’ has a slightly softer, more emo feel to it. That I definitely like. Fort Minor’s debut release is enjoyable. In some ways, it just sounds like another Linkin Park, which is something that I like very much.

On the website side, I had to do some major editing to my RSS feeds, especially since some of the feeds are actually being served to other websites now. I changed some of the details and increased the amount of entries to ten. I also changed the format so that it displays a short summary instead of the entire entry. The extra content in the feeds have been stripped as well, so things like images won’t appear in feeds. Modern web browsers can now detect the availability of my RSS feeds automatically.

Update: I found a few new bugs and squashed them promptly. I also fixed a bug that I haven’t been able to fix for a long time. The Nintendo Blog’s High Scores page now displays scores taken from my personal profile on Cyberscore. I also changed the color of comments to something a little more dark.

I’ll go back to working on the website and other various things. I hope everyone’s Thanksgiving was great and delicious.
